As we've seen from his earlier movies, the best of which include The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow, Liman is a more-than-capable director of action. The bar brawls here are well choreographed and cleanly shot, and the fighting encompasses everything from intimate fisticuffs to grander-scale set-pieces. Probably my favorite performance is given by a hungry crocodile who makes short work of one of the more annoying members of the cast and gives the movie some authentic Florida flavor.

The walls are concrete tilt up slabs, poured into forms on top of the foundation. The tilt up slabs are separated by 3 inches (76 mm), filled with concrete, clear glass or frosted glass. The tilt up panels act as the hard sheltering wall at the back of the house, and a softer permeable screen at the front. Whether Road House is simply bad or so bad it's good depends largely on the audience's fondness for Swayze -- and tolerance for violently cheesy action. Judging by the trailer, Gyllenhaal appears to have gotten pretty ripped for the film.
It remains to be seen how much of that original plot the reboot might include, but if it stays true enough to the original concept, the new "Road House" flick will undoubtedly prove every bit as fun. As noted on IMDb, it may not matter in the end, as his attachment to the project is very much a rumor at present. Either way, we'll be quick to update this page the moment Gyllenhaal's, or any other actor's casting in "Road House," is confirmed. But there's something too artificial about the action, with its often distractingly obvious CGI touch-ups.
Most of the other key characters have been recycled from the first film, from the flirty doctor who gives Dalton more than strictly medical attention to the wealthy villain who has his own designs on the roadhouse. Fans of the original Road House know it starred the late Patrick Swayze as James Dalton, a bouncer hired at a roadside bar who was tasked with whipping the establishment into shape. Given the reputation of the bar, the crowd it usually attracted and the handful of less-than-adequate employees, the job proved not to be an easy feat.
